As the luxury brand Louis Vuitton launches a capsule collection pairing with the famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, selected LV stores in various locations are re-decorated to reflect this exciting collaboration. Notably, a giant Kusama sculpture was placed on top of Louis Vuitton’s Champs Elysee store, while pop-up stores and interiors were covered with colorful polka dots, the signature element of Kusama’s artistic language.

It marks the second collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the Japanese artist, now aged 93. This time, the combination of LV monograms and colorful Kusama dots looks refreshing, as the intention was to reflect the post-pandemic optimism. The Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama 2023 ad campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, features internationally renowned supermodels from different generations: Bella Hadid, Gisele Bundchen, Karlie Kloss, Devon Aoki, Christy Turlington, etc.

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 @ TWA flight center

Under the creative direction of Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton fashion shows benefit from very special locations.

While Louis Vuitton’s Cruise show was staged at the Miho Museum in Kyoto, Japan, and 2019 Cruise show was hosted at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, Nicolas Ghesquière choose for  Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 collection another iconic location – The TWA flight center, a newly renovated terminal of JFK airport. Designed by Eero Saarinen, the place was recently transformed in a public lobby for a new hotel by firms Beyer Blinder Belle and Lubrano Ciavarra Architects.

Working in collaboration with artist Es Devlin, the chic terminal featuring a red heart-shaped lounge was filled with plants to look like an hi-tech oasis, perfect to host a Louis Vuitton fashion show under the direction of Ghesquière. That was definitely a perfect match for an impeccably designed collection.

After Xavier Dolan charmingly modeled Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection for the 5th anniversary issue of Essential Homme, in its turn GQ Korea puts the luxury brand in sharp light for an ultra polished presentation. The sober elegant outfits, designed by Kim Jones, bear an artistic touch inspired by Christopher Nemeth.

Christopher Nemeth was an iconic figure on the British fashion scene, an artist turned into fashion designer, whose signature ‘rope motif’ was smartly interpreted by Kim Jones for the Louis Vuitton Fall 2015 Men collection.
