Anders Krisár is a swedish artist whose work is very special and always fascinating. His sculptures deal with different subjects, but are increasingly focused on the human body. The project above, entitled “Sonja” (2008), recreates the body of a woman using the clothes that she kept from infancy to an older age. That’s a smart and emotional connection between dress codes, body, evolution and identity.
I’ve always been obsessed with layers. Fashion is about layering the same things over and over again, in order to obtain something new. Respecting Anders Krisár’ s vision, one can also layer the clothes themselves, until the body becomes real. And that’s quite impressive!
Wow! I have seen artists that make clothes sculptures but recrating a body through someone’s stuff is really an amazing concept…
What I love about your posts is that I always learn something new. 🙂 have a wonderful weekend! Ada
